  • Symposium - 12 Thinkers 2010

Kouroussis’ dialectic art asks us to free our minds from all that it harbors which is misleading, prefabricated, forged and obsessive, and with childlike innocence and receptivity to lead the work speak to our mind and senses, on both a conscious and subconscious level. It invites us then, to participate in a symposium with Heraclitus, Plato, Archimedes, Pythagoras, Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, Aristophanes, Phidias, and Praxiteles. The artist himself sits in the symposium, nourist like a modern day Phaethon by the contact and conversation with them. His aim is to infiltrate and understand the self and the world. His intension is clearly stated at the gateway of his installation, his propylaea,  in the reference to Heraclitus and his saying < I went in search of myself>
